From July 11-26, the Mackay region will come alive with the most ambitious Festival of Arts to date.
Now in its 22nd year, the Festival of Arts remains a highly anticipated and important cultural and artistic event on our region’s calendar.
Building on past successes, organisers have designed this year’s program to touch audience members’ hearts and celebrate the wonderful
treasures of food and talent that our region has in abundance. Aussie icon and rocker Jimmy Barnes will kick-start the celebration at Mackay
Entertainment and Convention Centre on Saturday, July 11.
And don’t miss the opportunity to have a sneak peek of our new $29 million State Government funded convention centre with a guided tour
between 10am to 3.30pm that day. Returning bigger and better than ever – at the ideal venue of Queens Park will be the g & s engineering wine and food day and the
cellarbrations big top cabarets.
I encourage one and all to take part in this year’s festivities. The Festival of Arts is an opportunity for all of us to celebrate the
diverse talent our region has to offer and to appreciate and be inspired by artists from all over the country.
